He was the greatest of all time (just ask him), but does Muhammad Ali know food?

"What Muhammad is working on is his legacy," said Ms. Ali, who often acts as his spokeswoman. "How are people going to remember him? Muhammad says that we should all be in a race to do good."

Those of us who are sports fans know that Ali's legacy needs no working on. Plus, eDiets Chief Nutritionist Susan Burke has concerns.

"I think it's a good thing that the snacks are 'healthier,' and have fewer grams of saturated fat. But don't forget, more is not better.

"The snack-size portion has about 150 calories, and the article says they're intended to be eaten in 7 'rounds.' Do the math... that's 1,050 calories a day! If you overate that much (in addition to your regular meals), by the and of one year, you'd gain more than 100 pounds!"

I wanted to comment on Susan Burke’s remarks about GOAT˜-- she said that it’s not good for people to add an additional 1,050 calories a day to their diet.

With any healthy food, the idea is not to merely add it into your existing diet, but rather to replace the less healthy items with the more nutritious, thereby improving your overall diet. I’ve looked at the GOAT website, and it looks to me like the rounds are each just different types of snacks for different needs.

If GOAT has a created a snack that tastes great and kids think is cool, and they are able to get kids to want to grab a 150 calorie GOAT snack in the afternoon instead of a bag of fries or even a “nutritious”‚ energy bar (at 200+ calories), they have definitely done good.
