Eating well is important for all of us, but our parents and grandparents may have health issues and physical limitations that can make it more difficult for them. Many seniors skip meals and eat too few calories to maintain adequate nutrition. There are many reasons a senior may skip meals, from forgetfulness, financial burden, depression, loneliness and dental. Encourage your elderly family members to communicate and pay attention to their daily habits so that you can ensure they get the nutrition they need to feel and be their best. We should reassure our loved ones that they are not a burden on us and help they take good care of themselves.
