I am sure you know someone who has tried detox diets. They promise to flush the poisons from your body, purge pounds of fat, clear your complexion and bolster your immune system. Celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, and Beyonce Knowles attribute great weight losses to diets like the Fruit Flush and Master Cleanse; however, studies show they do nothing but cause unpleasant and unhealthy side effects. Fasting leads to muscle breakdown and a shortage of many needed nutrients, thus depriving the body of vitamins and minerals we get from food and possibly weakening the body's ability to fight infections and inflammation. I guess it is true what we Nutritionists say...a balanced, healthy diet and plenty of good old exercise is the best way to lose excess fat and maintain a healthy weight.

you are a nutritionist and i respect your words but what ever u have said stopped making an impact on me after u said that fasting weakens ur body's immunity.it might be theoretically correct in some way i don't know, but practically speeking, our body need some yearly cleansing and rest just as we need an yearly vacation. I have seen ppl and experienced it myself that 99% of my acidity, pains, inflammation and sluggishness goes away like it never was there, when i fast for one month.on the first two to three days u might feel week but after that u don't even feel the need to eat on those hours. and believe me i am the healthiest in that month of the year.i fast from sunrise to sun set. no water no juice or anything is taken while fasting.please diversify your research and discover the real truth.i am sure u will agree by waht i have said. best of luck.
