Low Calorie Drinks May Not Be So Low!
Like the post? Add Your Comments | Digg This Post! |This did not come as a surprise to me because manufacturers have become very creative when it comes to labeling their products. Despite wanting to perhaps promote good health, the bottom line is still sales. So if these fancy terms such as “all natural” or “organic” appeals to you, the consumer, you may be getting more calories from these low-calorie drinks than you bargained for.
But who's to blame? This may be a question without a definite answer because the manufacturers are not going to change their marketing strategy anytime soon. So the fact is, we need to start reading labels and checking the serving size as this is a key indicator of how many calories you are consuming. The serving size information is also important because sometimes a bottle or can is a serving, but other times it can be less than that.
The take home message: If you decide to drink the whole thing, you may not be getting a low calorie beverage at all.

“We are all measured by inches, ages, numbers and all the outside things that don’t add up to who we are on the inside. So let your weight loss journey be one of self-acceptance every step of the way. If you are unhappy with yourself fifty pounds heavier you’ll probably feel the same way when you lose the weight. Happiness is not embedded in outward appearances.”
