The science of understanding how our brain handles our appetite is complex! However, scientists are making headway. One discovery is the hormone Ghrelin, “the hunger hormone.” Ghrelin, produced in our gut in response to our biological meal schedules and even the sight and smell of foods, leads to that “empty feeling” we all experience.
