The other night I watched the premiere episode of the new show Shaq's Big Challenge and I have to admit there were a few times when I actually began to tear up (I know, I know). It was very touching and inspiring to see Shaquille O'Neal, with his fame and influence among children, dedicate himself and his many resources to help these 6 kids not only change their eating and fitness habits, but possibly save their lives in the long run.

Childhood obesity is a very frightening and VERY REAL epidemic in our nation. Hopefully, Shaq's initiative will pique the interest and pull on the heartstrings of those families with overweight children AND the kids themselves so they tune in for a reality check Shaq-style.
