Imagine this scenario. You are a doctor in a hospital and you have a patient suffering from poisoning. You are successfully treating this patient, but all of a sudden the only supply that can inhibit the toxic effects of this poisoning runs out. What do you do?!
Well, this very situation occurred in an Italian hospital. The poisoning was caused by ingesting antifreeze and the treatment was pharmaceutical-grade alcohol. So, what did the doctors use instead? Vodka! These are my kind of doctors!
I won't be surprised if we see this on an episode of House or ER...
