The time of year is coming when the days are getting shorter and we are losing sunlight. This is also the time of year when we can sometimes get down in the dumps because the weather is gloomy and there is no sunlight to literally brighten our day!

Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD, is an actual diagnosis for symptoms of decreased energy and mood through the late fall and winter season.

It is important to remember that we still need some fresh air during the winter months, even if it's too cold. So, bundle up and take a walk...enjoy the outdoors, take notice of the leaves changing color or the beautiful snow on the ground, even if it's for a short time. Make sure to get outside and get some fresh air!

Now if the weather is not allowing you to get out side, remember to try and keep your window treatments open to let in some light...it can do wonders for your mental health and happiness!

It's one day at a time and that's what you need to concentrate on; each day that you do this will make you stronger for the next!
