I'm sure by now we all know that achieving a healthy weight can reduce the risk for many diseases, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease. You can now add breast cancer to this list, and not only for post menopausal women.

According to new research, gaining as much as 66 pounds at any age past 18 can lead to an increased risk of developing this type of cancer. And get this...if you were at a healthy weight earlier in life but packed on the pounds later on, you can increase your risk by up to 50 percent. Is this scary or what? I don't know about you, but I have a sneaky suspicion that a healthy weight throughout our life span may be just what the doctor or Dietitian ordered.

“We are all measured by inches, ages, numbers and all the outside things that don’t add up to who we are on the inside. So let your weight loss journey be one of self-acceptance every step of the way. If you are unhappy with yourself fifty pounds heavier you’ll probably feel the same way when you lose the weight. Happiness is not embedded in outward appearances.”
