Studies show that every year in the United States about 60 million smokers attempt to quit smoking; yet a mere 1.5 million (3%) are successful. However, according to the American Cancer Society, if a smoker is truly motivated, understands the that there will be challenges and prepares for them, the chances of succeeding are much higher. As usual, good things don't come easy.

There are three things that have shown to be essential in order to increase the odds of success. These are will power, pharmaceutical therapies such as nicotine patches or inhalers, and finally, support, support, support!

In today's day and age, there are many high tech methods to help smokers kick the habit. One is using the computer. On-line you will find an enormous array of sites that provide support or complete smoking cessation programs. There are also devices like the Cigarette Counter and the Ruyan E-Cigarette to try and make it easier for smokers to quit. Do these work? Well, it's like weight loss, if you truly want to do it, you can!
