Yet Another Reason to Breastfeed

We know about the benefits of breastfeeding for things like ear, stomach or intestinal infections, digestive problems, skin disease, allergies and cost. Well, now we can add heart disease to that list.
That's correct, breast-fed children were found to have higher HDL levels (good cholesterol) and a lower BMI (Body Mass Index) when compared to bottle-fed babies. The study looked at 962 people, average age of 41, taking part in the long running Framingham Heart Study.
This is an important step in our efforts to reduce the obesity epidemic. In our quest to find the secret of weight loss, youth and incredible looking skin, one thing comes to mind, breast milk!
