CLICK TO START OVERBlunder 5 -- Not having a realistic workout schedule that fits into your lifestyle. Most personal trainers will tell you that a plan is essential, but in reality you have to have a plan that works based on the way you live your life.

If I structure a plan that has you working out five to six days per week and you have a demanding job, several young children and other responsibilities, then what have I accomplished? Unless you're super motivated, I've most likely set you up for failure.

If I understand your lifestyle and start you at two workouts per week and then increase to three workouts in the third or fourth week, doesn't that make a whole lot more sense? I'm not suggesting that some degree of sacrifice isn't necessary, but we do have to make sure our plan is one that will ensure compliance.

I can easily come up with more blunders, but these five are vital. If you've read my articles in the past, you already know how important it is to perform resistance exercise, cardiovascular exercise and to have a nutrition program that matches your activity level. It's the only way to achieve a healthy, strong and lean body.

I have been a victim of two of these blunders cited here. One is, Eating too less in the hope of losing more weight. Its sheer foolishness to do such a thing. You only tend to slow down your metabolism with this, plus, u feel weakness...moreover, eating less, also means lack of all the nutrients that u require, so u start losing ur hair and ur skin becomes a total mess. Also, a dietician told me that such low calorie diets, if kept over prolonged periods of time can lead to osteoporosis, wherein ur body tries to extract nutrients that it need (and u din't supply it) from ur bones, making them brittle..its horrible! My advice is to eat reasonably well, and pair up ur diet with exercise...there's no substitute for exercise!
My second blunder was my sruggle for 100% perfection in diet...NEVER WORKS! common...we r human beings too...u DO feel like having a cookie and a sweet here and there...NEVER DENY YOURSELF OF UR TREATS...ITS UR BIRTHRIGHT TO HAVE THEM!...just dont get carried away tho'...the trick is to keep ur diet flexible...if u exceed ur daily caloric allowance on any day, dont worry, just balance them out the day later (with exercise or eating little less), or better still, forget about it, and start anew...
