4. Juice is better for you than water.
Is juice better than water? That depends. If you're super thin and need extra calories, juice is an option. Juice is essentially sugar in water. Fruit sugar is also known as fructose, and it is just as caloric as sugar. If you're watching your figure, drink cool, clean water.

If you drink 100% pure and don't water it down, its very bad for health, but if you water it down and add a sweetener, it won't hurt your blood sugar near as much. I know I would get more concentrated calories totally 'pure' and you normally have the additives of drugs and such if you don't have a very good water filter so thats a bigger concern than the sugar, but I call the 'pure' juices naughty none the less, but most tap water don't have any Vitamins in them.

I think juice has a bad rap.
Millions of people have been drinking OJ for breakfast for decades. It's filled with all kinds of nutrients. 100% pure juices are hardly just "sugar water" and are far from nutritionally empty.
The obesity epidemic in this country didn't come from people drinking too much juice. It's the greasy cheeseburgers, the super-sized portions, the deep-fried snack foods we all love, and the cheap and available cookies. It's the fact that no one cooks at home anymore.
Stop blaming the poor juice. My morning OJ has far fewer calories than a Big Mac or a meat-lover's pizza!

Orange juice is great, but keep in mind a serving is usually 8oz and contains around 100 calories. Most people I see drinking at least twice that, if not more. So it might be healthy to start with, but if you consume more than a serving those calories are going to add up. The best way to consume orange juice is to take an orange and eat it. No added sugar, no extra calories, and perfect portion control!
