5. Fat-free foods are lower in calories than regular foods.
If it sounds too good to be true... guess what? The myth perpetuated on the American public starting in the 1970's is that fat is a "bad" food. This has led to the manufacture of sugar-laden imitation products that often contain as many calories as the fat-free versions. People get into the habit of eating more of products labeled fat-free, but they are no better and possibly worse than the original.

Its companies like WebMD which would tell us anything which tastes good is naughty and this leads to this and you just said don't drink any juices since they are naughty so you too have caused this problem for many of us. I love the low fat mayo best of all, which is why burgers have a lot of calories in them so I don't ask for mayo since most if not all have no low fat mayo, but some mayo are worth the high calories.

There are many low fat or fat free products that help you save a lot of calories. And are healthier. Dairy! Dressings! Just read the labels - I can think of so many products that don't substitute sugar or other crap for the flavor this one seems a bit misleading to me.

Anonymous,
Try mayo with olive oil. It's lower in calories, and I think it tastes a heck of lot better than FF mayo. eww.

My favorite for regular mayo is the Low Fat or Low calories and yet I got the regular fat, but its healthy since that, but it has lots of calories in it, the special mayo with healthier fats in it, so its not easier, but better for health.

You should learn to read nutritional labels more carefully. More times than not when you buy a product that is labeled "low-fat" the carbs and sodium are higher than in the real version of the product. You can't have "low" everything or you would just be eating air. So pay attention to what you really want to control. Is it carbs, fat or sodium?

The fat free stuff doesn't always have less calories, but calories aren't all you should be looking at. My main things is the combination of calories, fat and fiber. Fat free and low fat stuff is def better then the regular. Unless your watching sodium or sugars. Which I'm not. I've lost 26 pounds in 10 weeks.
