50 Pounds Down… Halfway to Goal!

What’s it like to lose 50 pounds? What’s it like to be halfway to your goal of losing 100 pounds, to be closer to your goal than farther from it for the first time in your life?

It’s, like, amazing. Just ask Brooke…

Brooke joined eDiets just after her 24th birthday this year. Weighing in at 235lbs, she wasn’t sure this time was going to be any different than any of the other attempts at losing weight she’d made in the past, but hey – what’s one more shot? One more time, especially since, she says, she’s been at this since the 3rd grade.

Determined to make it to goal “this time,” Brooke signed on for the 5-Day Meal Delivery program.  It allows her some flexibility to cook or eat out with friends and family on the weekends, but helps keep her on plan during the rest of the week.  As a teacher, this made it really easy for her to stay on target during the school week, not having to prep food or go shopping…it literally is as easy as a diet on your doorstep!  This was something different, this was something that could help  make “this time,” Brooke’s last time.  She said, “I’ve lost the weight with (other diet companies) multiple times before, but I have always gained it back before reaching my goal.  I want to make it to goal this time, I’m tired of being the fat girl.”

Brooke set out with her first big goal in mind, to get out of the 200′s by the time school let out in June.  She hit her Zumba DVD’s and the meal plan hard in the first few weeks, and dropped 15lbs in just 8 weeks! Awesome start!   I spoke with Brooke in late March and convinced her arm to sign up for the eDiets Best Body Boot Camp in April, something she was a little hesitant to do, as she hadn’t really explored the online support available to all our Members.

Brooke set herself on FIRE during those 6 weeks and lost another 15lbs!  She says, “It’s so neat to be accountable to a group of online peers who are going through all the same things as me. As much as I thought this online challenge would be ‘just something else to do’ on my own, and didn’t think it would make me feel like a part of a team, it really and truly does. It provides a great source of motivation. I haven’t even considered not completing my daily orders for one day yet. I haven’t thought about it because I feel like if I don’t do the work and lose the weight and complete each and everyday of the challenge (it’s 6 weeks!) then I will be letting my fellow boot camp challengers down. Who wants to let a bunch of hungry, muscled-up people down? (Even if they are only virtual peers…)”

eDiets and Best Body Boot Camp helped Brooke achieve her first major goal of being under 200lbs by the time school let out.  In fact, she hit that goal early, and on her last day of school was weighing in at 197! Go Brooke!

What’s a girl to do but set new and more challenging goals?  When she first started, Brooke wasn’t really sure what her goal weight should be, but after seeing her first goal accomplished and really believing that this time IS different, Brooke set her sites on a 95lb total weight loss.  We’ve been following Brooke all along on her blog and could not have been HAPPIER on July 29 when we read this,  Day 110: Success! That’s right, 110 days and 50lbs gone, Brooke is more than half way to weight loss victory! Check her out on the right, 50lbs smaller!
