Life Begins at 40: Donna’s 100lb Loss Begins!

“We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance.” – Harrison Ford

When I saw that quote, I thought it was the perfect intro for the story I am about to share with you about eDiets member Donna B.

It was just a few short seconds into our conversation when Donna told me that she had decided to change her life and get healthy and fit when she realized she was only 8 short months from her 40th birthday. She said, “I truly believe that life begins at 40…” which meant Donna was about to begin her life at 270 pounds and with a bevy of chronic health conditions that would only get worse with age if she did nothing. THIS was Donna’s “a-ha” moment, she did not want her second chance at life to pass her by!

Donna lost a great deal of weight on her own before joining up with eDiets. She said she followed a plan of sensible eating, and for exercise she started first with walking, and then progressed to training for various athletic events. She said, “I think we all know what to do to lose weight, it’s just a matter of DOING IT.”

So just how did she do it?

I work as a housekeeper and i do go on a diet and then i will see my kids eating junk or something i wont then next thing you know i am off my diet. i strongly need to loose an hundred plus pounds. by the way i am active maybe not as much as i should be. i have very little will power and no one to encourage me to do it. and i hate being around those people who can eat anything and never gain a pound. i do have friends like that. and they never stop me or say anything to me about the choices i make.
