I love cheese. I mean, really. I love cheese.
I will never turn cheese down, ever. I can eat it almost anywhere at any time — seriously. A few weeks ago my friends at Sargento sent me a box of their new low-fat cheese products to review. (Thank you!) As I devoured this delicious gift, I wondered: Is there a more perfect food than cheese?
Oh, cheese, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
Nachos, enchiladas and grilled cheese sandwiches, oh my!
On a tuna melt, or all alone, on a pizza or in a calzone!
You’re the perfect complement to a glass of wine; loaded on French fries is also just fine.
I’ll put you on a burger or sandwich, to make it better, doesn’t matter if you’re Swiss, American, Colby or cheddar.
I like it stringed, shredded, melted and sliced, no matter how you serve it, you’ve got me enticed.
Something about cheese just makes me think in a sing-song tone. During my weeklong cheese bender, I realized there is nothing cheese doesn’t make better. I asked several people and none of them could think of anything cheese didn’t go well with. So, I put this question to you, my little cheeseheads: Is there anything that doesn’t go with cheese?
And I leave you with this final chunk of cheese poetry, a Haiku just for you:
Twinkling yellow wheel
A delicious mellow meal
Cheese: Food of the Gods
Write your own cheese Haiku and post it below (First and third lines: 5 syllables, second line: 7 syllables). Or write a Haiku about your favorite food. Keep it cheesy!
