Movies and popcorn go hand in hand. But go for the smallest tub (we’re talking kiddie-sized!) and ask for less or (even better) no butter. It’ll save you loads of fat and calories.
If you must have candy to complete your cinematic experience, choose a variety that’s low in fat, such as red licorice or gummy bears, and try to stick to just one or two servings.
Otherwise, you’ll find yourself mindlessly munching on hundreds of calories that your body doesn’t need. If chocolate is screaming your name, indulge in a few pieces and share the rest with your fellow movie-goers. They’ll appreciate your generosity, and so will your waistline!
If you’re brave enough to “sneak” a snack into your local cinema (not that we’re endorsing such behavior!), air-popped popcorn, low-fat dry cereal, trail mix, pretzels and baked chips are all healthy choices.
To wash down your movie munchies, choose water, diet soda or coffee (light on the cream and sugar).
Survive the mall food court…
