I am a 83 year old man ..5ft-10in
213lb.I have COPD and Emphysema
My Lung Doctor has suggested I may want to lose 20 lb. I would have more enegy & feel better
I don't feel bad nowbut, I do run out of oxgen in a hurry..
Like on the treadmill I am up to 3.

Question: Am I on the right tract? Does your program include men as well as womem ?
Do you have futher suggestion for old kooks?

Hello Ray,

I agree that losing weight (as your doctor recommends) will most likely provide you more energy and generally just make you feel better. If you were forced to carry a 20 pound bag of sand around all day and then dropped it to the floor think how much better you'd feel. This is the same thing with the extra body fat you're carrying now.

As far as exercise, make sure to do what you can so it's not overly taxing. Consistency and small amounts of progression are key.

Our program includes both men and women and members always have access to a team of registered dieticians.

...and you're no old kook, Ray. You sound like an intelligent man who values his health!
