Dessert: Cool Spiced Berries

This tasty treat will soothe your sweet tooth without the extra fat and calories of most desserts.

Ingredients
2 tbsp white granulated sugar
¼ tsp fresh lemon juice
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup fresh sliced strawberries
3 tbsp whipped light topping

Instructions
In a small saucepan, stir together the sugar, lemon juice and water. Bring to a boil, and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until it becomes syrupy. Mix in the nutmeg and cinnamon; remove from the heat. Stir in the vanilla and allow to cool for a few minutes. Pour syrup over strawberries and top with whipped topping.
