Try this tasty apple slaw that pairs perfectly with picnic food or anything barbecued.

Ingredients:
4 cups shredded green cabbage
1 cup fresh shredded carrots
1 medium apple, peeled, cored and coarsely shredded
2 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp. low fat mayonnaise
2 tsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. black pepper.

Instructions:
Place the shredded cabbage and carrot together in a bowl with the sliced apple, and toss to combine.

In a separate bowl, stir together the honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and mayonnaise until the honey and sugar have dissolved completely. Pour over the salad, and toss to coat. Season with pepper and toss again.

Cover and chill until ready to serve.

Note: If desired, you may use 1 tbsp. pineapple juice in the dressing to prevent the apples from browning.
