Feeling nostalgic? Follow this recipe for a healthy homemade dessert that will bring back fond memories.

Ingredients
1 stick (8 Tbsp.) butter
1-1/2 cups molasses
5 Tbsp. hot water
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1-½ tsp. ground ginger
½ tsp. cinnamon

Instructions
In a mixer (or using a hand mixer), beat together butter, molasses and water until combined. Add remaining ingredients in order listed so dough forms. Place in fridge for 2 hours or as long as you can convince the kids to stay away.

Preheat oven to 350F. Roll dough out to 1/8 in and cut into cute shapes. If you don’t have any cookie cutters, use a drinking glass to cut into circles. Sprinkle dough with colored sugar or for no additional calories use food coloring markers to doodle on designs. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
